A new permanent lighting display along the Avenue of the Arts sets the stage for a grand welcome this summer to the center of the city’s cultural scene. The lighting creates a memorable effect at night, allowing visitors to better appreciate one of the city’s great public spaces. Center City District, dedicated to enhancing the vitality of Center City Philadelphia, tapped The Lighting Practice to create the lighting design strategy, which enhances the elaborate architectural elements of 12 prominent buildings. Beyond providing beauty, safety and entertainment, the project aims to serve as a catalyst for development of the Avenue.
